Welcome to Great Farm Stables
Great Farm Stables is a small training centre based on the wonderfully unspoilt West Woodhay estate in Berkshire, between Hungerford and Newbury.
We are a little yard with a big mission: to promote and encourage correct training of the horse using time-tested, classical principles.
These principles are useful for all horses and riders, whatever the level.
Everybody is very warmly welcome, whether a happy hacker or someone looking to train to an advanced level. We can help riders with confidence problems as well as helping you to understand judges comments on your competition sheet, but we do encourage all riders to ride without gadgets and without force.
We also offer a meeting place for people who believe that horses should be ridden from "back to front" (unrestricted) and not have their neck manipulated– as is seen sadly too often in the modern equestrian world.
The most important maybe is that horses should be ridden with great respect.
